研究方向

心臟血管疾病為人類十大死亡原因之一，因此如何降低心臟血管疾病罹病率一直成為科學家及臨床工作者共同有興趣研究的課題。一般在五十歲以前，女性心臟血管疾病之發生率遠低於同年齡層之男性，但隨著年齡之增長，在50-70歲，兩性之心臟血管疾病發生率則相差不大，由此可推論停經會影響女性心臟血管功能，目前認為停經造成雌性素缺乏和此疾病之形成最為相關。此外，更年期婦女也常引起肥胖現象。近年來肥胖已逐漸被視為一種慢性疾病，其主要特徵為體內脂肪過渡堆積或分佈異常、體重增加、能量代謝平衡失調。同時肥胖會增加許多慢性病的危險性，例如：第二型糖尿病、心血管疾病、高血壓、中風、高膽固醇、關節炎等等。肥胖的成因相當複雜，其中主要是因長期的身體能量正平衡所致。因此，本實驗室以卵巢切除鼠模式，進行一系列有關雌性素缺乏引發心臟血管病變、肥胖的病理機制及治療藥物的作用機轉探討。除此之外，以脂肪細胞分化模式，進行藥物抑制脂肪細胞分化及堆積的分子機轉探討。
