Research Interest

Health Technology Assessment, Cost of Illness, and Evidence Synthesis

Short Biography

Shawn’s research interests are in evidence synthesis and the use of real-world evidence in health economics. His PhD estimated the cost of illness in people with rheumatoid arthritis/musculoskeletal disorders in Scotland and Tanzania. He is currently developing his new team and has been involved in several grants, including economic evaluations of new health technologies in CVDs and oncology and the cost-of-illness for patients living on offshore islands. In addition, he teaches Pharmacoeconomics and supervises undergraduate and MSc students at the National Defense Medical Center.
